What are PRC housing and what are Tinber framed housing. Exact definitions please need it for uni assignement!

Got a building defects and property surveys assignment and the task is to write a report discussing defects in both sets of housing, their damage and the ways of curing them. Cheers guys. :)

  1. I believe that PRC refers to "poured reinforced concrete" but they usually don't make houses that way.

    And "tiMber framed is built out of 2"x4"'s, usually referred to as "stick frame". You don't have to "cure" a stick frame. You cure a PRC by covering the wall's (while there still laying down) with plastic for a couple of day's, so they don't dry out too fast, and crack. The defects with "stick frame" is they burn really good. and with PRC the main defect would be caused by too much calcium chloride in the concrete mix, which causes the re-bar to rust prematurely which can cause it to expand up to 6 times, crumbling the walls
