  1. Both previous answer are good ones, it was Henry Morgan who destroyed the original city of panama however, not Francis Drake.

  2. The Ruins of Old Panama (Las ruinas de Panama Viejo)

    The Casco Viejo

El Altar de Oro (The gold Altar)

El Arco Chato (the Chato Arch)

    Portobelo

The ruins are particularly interesting.>Specially the history on hoe Pirate Morgan  (sorry No se que estaba yo pensando) destroyed the City

The Gold Altar's Story is AMAzing..The priests decided to pain the ALtar in Black, in this way the pirates did not realize it was made of gold, so they didint take it....Is a truly amazing altar..Beautiful

In Portobelo you can see the stone canyons they used to defend the city from the pirates...

    I hope this is enough

  3. The Panama viejo city has a new museum, very interesting.  Then go to Casco Viejo, is the old part of the city, where it moved after the pirates burned Panama Viejo.  There is a museum in Casco Viejo, The Museum of the Panama Canal, go see it before you visit the Locks.  You‘ll understand it better.

There are many beautiful historic  places to visit.  Hope you enjoy your stay.
