What are Source Deductions?

I get this taken off my pay on top of the regular deductions.

This is in Ontario, Canada, not sure if it makes a difference...

  1. Source deductions are deductions taken off your paycheque from the "source" of the income - ie your employer.

    normally these would be federal, provincial taxes, EI, and CPP.  You may also have benefits and retirement plan deductions from your cheque.
