What are Sweet Sixteens like? What kind of dresses??

All of my friends had a Quinceanera, but I didn't so I was thinking of having a Sweet 16. I've never been to a Sweet 16 only Quinceaneras. What kind of dresses are used in a Sweet 16?? Like are they the big and poofy fancy kind like the Quinceaneras or are the dresses smaller?? I really like the big, fancy, poofy dresses, but I wasn't sure what the style is for a Sweet 16?? What are some of the differences in a Quinceanera and a Sweet 16, or can you do everything just like you would in a Quinceanera??? Please give me some examples of the kind of dresses and such! Thanks so much!!!

there rly isnt a difference except 1 is in spanish && da otha isnt(depending on uy ethnicity)

but da dress dependsz on the type of person u ar u can wear any kind of dress u want itsz ur sweet 16 u can wear a casual dress a gown or big poofy dress it juss has 2 b glamorous 2 make u noticable

Sweet sixteen is whatever you want, dress wise.

You could do cocktail, evening, or ball gown (like a quinceanera).

The only difference between a quince and a sweet sixteen is that a quince is somewhat religious and there is more set things to it. Sweet sixteens don't usually have a court, or the opening dances and things like that. Unless you wanted to of course! Sweet sixteens are usually whatever you want it to be, but typically they don't have the religious/court stuff.

At a sweet sixteen, your not limited to one style of dress, but a smaller one is usually more suitable for dancing around in :)

What my friends did a couple of years back is wear TWO dresses: one really big elegant poofy dress to make an entrance and take pictures in, and another smaller cocktail dress to dance around and greet people in.

You can usually wear whatever you want.

your style and everything.

like poofy, short, long, scrunched up, tight, loose.

anything really.

ive never been to a quinceanera but all the sweet 16 parties ive been too you wear small short dresses.  ive never been to one with big poofy dress
