Question:

What are TESCO Green Clubcard points for?

Tesco in the UK are offering Green Clubcard points if you use your own bag instead of one of their disposable plastic bags. I appreciate that this system offers encouragement to pack with reusable bags and help the environment. But is their any extra materialistic bonus for the consumer beyond the vouchers you get for normal Clubcard points? Or is it just an extra point on top of the points gained from what you spend (each worth 1p)?

  1. OMG YOU DONT KNOW WOT THEY ARE YOU ARE STOOPUIDD

  2. They are just like the other points but are incentive to change your bagging and delivery behavior.  Go for it, it's a good thing.

We all know we are using too many carrier bags. That's why from now on, we'll give you a Green Clubcard Point* every time you re-use a bag. It really doesn't matter what kind of bag it is. As long as you're helping the environment by not using new carrier bags, we'll give you Green Clubcard Points in return.

Tesco.com are now offering to have your grocery order delivered without carrier bags** where you can collect 1 Green Clubcard Point for every 10 items ordered.

As part of this we hope to cut Tesco carrier bag usage by 25% over the next two years.

You can spend Green Clubcard Points just like any other Clubcard Points. And this is just the beginning, we'll soon be introducing other initiatives to make Tesco and Clubcard greener.
