i think that investing in water coolers will be a good investment. depends on what company who supplies the water cooler.

I think it is a term they use to refer to the stocks people talk about at the office, when they congregate at the water cooler to chat.  Referring to hot stock topics, stocks that are on people's minds, etc.

Stocks that have been the subject of stories (real and rumors) that are being discussed around the water cooler at work.  Hot gossip stocks.
