Question:

What are YOU actually willing to do?

I hear a lot of people talking about things they should be doing to help the environment, but then they say things like, "but it's too expensive." Or, "I just haven't gotten around to it yet."

If you really believe in man-made global warming, tell me:

What are YOU willing to do? Instead of blaming other people and their habits, what are YOU willing to pay or buy or do? What is it really worth to you personally? Can you put a dollar amount on it? Or do we all just want to complain and not DO anything about it ourselves?

  1. I installed a 20kw wind turbine $45,000

    I have a geo-thermal heat pump $18,000

I only drive when I need to  $priceless

  2. I am willing to stuff all the endangered animals into my gas tank, so that my personal freedoms do not become infringed upon.

I am willing to tap into my neighbors electrical panel at night to reduce my burden.

I am willing to siphon gas from your cars while you sleep.

I am willing to have an illegal septic system that leaches into public drinking water.

I am willing to listen to all the Internet hippies who think they can save the world with a few key strokes.

  3. I'm willing to have a nuclear reactor buried in my backyard to provide for home power (and maybe sell it to the neighbours).

Only problem is the stupid government which is more concerned with keeping coal miners in work than fixing global warming won't let me.

  4. I think that people should take global warming seriously. We only have one world that we can live in and we need to treat it with respect because it was here before us. We take so much from the land and don't put enough back.

I've started to ride my bike everywere instead of asking for rides to places (i'm 15)

I've talked to my mom (who i live with) and i've gotten recycling, we grade our own cheese which uses less energy and packaging

I'm vegetarian, because raising animals causes a lot more pollution than raising a field of vegtables.

I've convinced my mom to get reusable bags to use for groceries and we use the leftover plastic bags for garbage, dog p**p etc... and when i go shopping i put everything in one bag.

  5. I am willing to expose AWG for the hogwash it really is.

It is the trojan horse for global socialism.

I am willing to protect my freedom and liberty from the forces of green socialists.

  6. Well I'm just a young'in, so this is my plan:

Cars need to be more efficient if they're going to make a difference. I know they're working on ethonal and other options for cars, but it needs to improve even more if it's going to change.

Trucks aren't good either because of the smoke they put out into the atmosphere. It's very dangerous and just plain gross.

Factories are a HUGE problem because of the amount of smoke and smog they put into the air. This needs to be brough down GREATLY because it's not healthy or safe for the envioment or US.

So i'm willing to work to bring these three things mentioned above to a healthy level.

I need to recycle and and buy things that have an 85% consumer recylcled label or greater on them to make recylcing effective. Recylcing is a BIG part of this, and it can make a juge difference. I've actually talked amny of our neighbors and friends into recycling, because I think it's that important.

Now, this is the plan so FAR. I willl have many more ideas as time goes on, so this is the beginning.

  7. Wake up !! Global Warming is a scam to make money.. If we believed there would be all thing that we could do. Look at Gore ,he talks your Creed but does not live it... Does that sound like Gore believes.NO !!!

  8. We the wife and I  have stopped taking Motorcycle rides with out a reason

    .. .. ..

We again have stated to use our bicycle for transportation

    .. .. .

We have stopped using out motor boat and RV travel trailer

    .. .. ..

We have started to use wood in our coal wood burning stove as primary heating source

    .. ..

  9. I've owned a Prius for 6 years, our other car is now a hybrid, I work from home and my husband bikes several times a week.

I'm installing solar panels, have been buying green energy for a couple years from our utility and I've reduced our electric bill by at least 25%.

I conserve water, with low flow shower heads, am in the process of installing dual flush toilets, I take navy showers, I don't flush unless it is solid waste, I'm removing large areas of lawn for low water usage plants, I'm going to install a rain water capture system in about 2 months.

I've used reusable shopping bags for a couple years, I shop in the bulk aisle to reduce packaging, I have reusable produce bags, I buy very little packaged food, I minimize packaging when possible.

I have recycled for more than 30 years, I compost my organic waste with a worm farm, I freecycle items I no longer need, I keep organized so I can find what I have and only need to buy what I need. I shop with a list to reduce waste. I buy organic clothing, sustainably harvested wood products, low voc paints and adhesives.

I buy most of my produce and meat from a local organic farmers market. The coop farms are within 50 miles of my house. I eat local and in season most of the time, I can for off season. I am in the process of increasing my home vegetable garden, as well as planting 6 more fruit trees.

I use natural and non toxic cleaning supplies and beauty products.

I'm also involved in local groups that help teach people how to live a lower impact life.

  10. what am I willing to do? Who cares what I am willing to do. I could say or think I am willing to do anything, or nothing at all. What am I doing? That is the question.

What I am doing is exploring other potential at home things that I can do but am not already. I don't go to McDonalds or other such fast food joints anymore. I go to Aldis, a grocery store that While I am shopping I grab empty boxes to take my stuff home in they not only allow it, they prefer you do it. I take my empty boxes to the local cardboard drop-off site.

I purchased a used push mower which I removed the engine from, and am working on a small scale methane generator to explore the feasibility of powering my home using methane from compost. If the small scale test works out, I will move on to large scale, and maybe eliminate my dependence on the utility grid during the summer...maybe even in the winter if things work out right.

I have 2 switches by the door in my bedroom. 1 for the lights, and the other turns off the power to all the outlets but 1. That 1 outlet only has my alarm clock plugged into it.

My car...what car? I do not have one. I use a bike with a trailer. I fix old broken electronics squeezing more use out of them and avoid buying new. For mowing my lawn I purchased an old manual push mower. It's a little harder to push, but doesn't take much longer.

Do I use solar power? NO!!! I will not because it is more harmful to make a solar panel than to run an internal combustion engine. Wind power? Sadly no. Though wind often reaches 120 miles per hour where I live, those bursts are short lived, and normally only happen when there is a tornado warning. My location doesn't have enough wind to make wind power an investment that will make a meaningful difference. Something we do have here is coal, oil (eew!) and natural gas. There are locations where that natural gas leeches through the ground, but I haven't located one on my property.

Now take not of what I said about wind power. Some people would do things, but it's just not feasible for them. Wind power is the one that bothers me the most because I could easily build a wind generator in a couple of days.

  11. I decided to be self-concious of my activities like avoiding wasting plastic bags and saving electricity like switching off the fan when not in use.

  12. I'm going to continue going about my normal life living the way I was living before this became some huge, overblown, fad of a cause.  I WILL ride my motorcycle without cause because I enjoy it, I will NOT drive a hybrid because they are much more expensive, and I will continue to use my air conditioning.  Global warming is a joke people.  We are no worse off now than we were 30 years ago when all the Chicken Littles were running around saying we're all going to perish from the coming ice age.  I'm still waiting for that one by the way.  The planet is not in peril and we're going to be fine.  Don't let any alarmist convince you otherwise.

  13. What i am willing to do i am doing already.

Riding a bike every month for more then 350km-14 km a day-25 days a month, visiting a activist web site that fights for education, preservation of the forests and saving abandoned animals, recycling my waste and planting trees in my yard whenever the opportunity presents itself, refusing to buy wooden furniture or meat or junk food.

We should stop projecting our own inadequacies  on the corporations and our neighbors and look at our own behavior first. If the consumers do not buy garbage there will be no garbage and no corporations that sell them.

If you want to change you can start by daily visitations to  the site bellow.Completely free and will not take more then 2 minutes of your time.
