I'm 14 years old, 5'4, and roughly 106 pounds.

I started losing weight a few months ago, then hit a bit of a plateau recently. I weighed in at 102.4 pounds, then I started gaining weight again; the lowest I've gotten to recently was 103.8.

I run every other day for about 7.6km and bike 1.9km.

I made it a habit to eat every 3-4h by eating an apple & water if I still feel thirsty, and water in between. I do not skip my breakfast, lunch or dinner. I will not go on any kind of starvation diet because I believe they are suicidal and my parents would never allow it.

I get to sleep at around 11:00-1:00 but have been trying to get to sleep earlier, which hasn't worked very well. I wake up anywhere from 7:00-10:00.

  2. If you're doing brisk walks, running and keeping active, along with a good diet you should be loosing the fat.

Each time you eat you need to make sure your stomach is satisfied.  That should eliminate the snacking in between.

Your breakfast should be a healthy one.  Try to cover all the food groups in your breakfast and make sure your stomach is satisfied.

Do not eat within 3 hours before going to sleep

The following will help you to understand a little more about obesity.  As you go through try to see exactly what you've been missing in your quest to loose weight.

The most common cause of obesity is poor diet and/or eating habits and a lack of exercise.  Other factors that can lead to obesity include glandular malfunctions, diabetes, hypoglycemia, emotional tension, boredom, and a simple love of food.  Obesity has also been linked to food sensitivities and/or allergies.  Food your body cannot use or that is a poison to your system is stored in the tissues and causes water retention.  Ironically, poor nutrition may be an important factor in obesity.  When there is inadequate intake of certain essential nutrients, fat is not easily or adequately burned and can accumulate in the body.

There is no need to worry about the amount of calories you consume as about eating the proper foods.  Rotate your foods, and be sure to eat a variety of foods.  Eat meals that consist of a balance of proteins, complex carbohydrates, and some fat.  Proteins can increase your metabolic rate by as much as 30%, and help to balance the release of insulin by prompting secretion of the pancreatic hormone glucagons.  Protein-induced glucagons, mobilizes fats from the tissues in which it is stored, thus aiding in weight loss.  By eating balanced meals you get more steady blood sugar levels and the ability to burn stored body fat for long-term weight loss.  Eat mainly plant proteins, such as nut, seeds, and grains.

Eat fresh fruits and an abundance of raw vegetables.  Have one meal each day that consists entirely of vegetables and fruits.  Use more low calorie vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, green beans, kale, lettuce, onions, radishes, spinach, and turnips.  Eat more of the low calorie, low-carbohydrate fruits including,  apples, cantaloupe, grapefruit, strawberries, and watermelon.

Eat foods raw where possible.  Drink 8 – 10 glasses of water each day.  Also include home made fruit juices and vegetable juices in your diet.  Eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables - at least all kinds that you can get your hands on.  Just eat more of the low cal., low carb ones.  And do not forget to take exercise.

  3. First of all, I'm not sure why you are trying to loose weight.  You are the proper weight for your age and height.  It's very difficult to loose weight by exersize only, you have to watch your calorie intake.  Remember, it's calories in, calories out.

You shouldn't be obsessing so much about your weight.  Enjoy your teenage years and although I know it's hard, try to ignore the media and their obsession with weight.

  4. u should buy Hydroxicut hardcore it makes u loose weight by just walking

  5. The best exercises are just all - round ones, like running and swimming. You say you already ride your bike and go running, and they're really the best ones to do. You could also try things like sit ups, push ups and step ups, just know you're limits and don't try and do a million at once, you /will/ pay in the morning.

Your stats sounds quite slim already though (: Don't skip meals, it won't help at all (as you already seem to know (Y) )

    good luck

  6. at 106 pounds and 5fr4 you don't need to loose weight at all but stomach crunches are very good and cheap to buy look in argos about 6 pound they are very good at toning and flattening your stomach you see a huge difference in just 1 week also fitness dvds are extremely good as long as you do it once everyday with your eating regime and depending on your metabolism you should lose up to 1 pound a day that's half a stone in 1 week I'm 14 too & i should no because ive tried it :) good luck x

  7. I think the best way to lose weight and keep it of is to have some sort of activity or sport that you love doing so much your not thinking about losing weight, you dont want to let wieght loss control your life or become obsessive about it (trust me i wasted yrs doing it), if your involved in a team sport/activity you will naturally want to get better and train harder to benifit your team and you will lose wieght in the process.

Plus ul meet new friends and being surounded by active people will only help keep your fitness levels up. Gud luck, and member weight loss can be fun. :)
