Hi all, and thanks for all of you who spend their time for answer my question.

I m planning to move from Turkey to Australia, live with my father's sister (paternal aunt) but I have orthopedics problem, which means I can only walk with crutch,

1) So what are the physical conditions of Melbourne city, for peoples like me?

2) I have finished 2 year collage for zoology. Is it difficult to find job out there for me? It must not be zoology branch; kind of standard office works position acceptable as well.

3) Could I take any financial support from government? If I can please tell me, is it enough / how much?

Thanks Again:

Munir

  1. Have you seriously investigated whether you will be able to come to Australia to live?

You will have a great deal of trouble obtaining a visa unless your aunt lives in a designated area and is prepared to sponsor you on a Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) visa (subclass 475). For this, she must live in one of the following designated areas and you must live there for at least 2 years.

A subclass 475 visa is a provisional visa and you/your aunt will be responsible for all of your health care and other expenses for at least your first 2 years in Australia and no government benefits of any kind will be payable.

Even 475 visas are restricted to people in occupations that are short of workers in Australia and applicants must also pass a points test and meet character and health requirements. The health requirements are largely intended to ensure that immigrants do not become a drain on our healthcare system and your disability would make it difficult for you to pass.

A 2 year zoology course is unlikely to qualify you for points as they are only given for bachelor's degrees and above plus experience and an Australian zoology bachelor's degree takes at least 3 years. Standard office workers are not required at all and earn no points under any circumstances.

  2. You might find it hard to get here due to your disability as the government has strict controls for disabled people migrating to Australia. As they don't want people to come here for benefits only

Disability services wise there are a lot of government departments that can support you but you might not have access to these if you are not a permanent resident or Australian citizen. Same goes with benefits.

You have to be here for a while before you can get residency and until then you're basically on your own
