How about when the game is close and late. Is he really the choke artist everyone claims or is it just selective memory?

  1. He SUCKS with men in scoring position. If the game is close and you need a hit from A-ROD forget about it! He's not going to get it! He will hit a home-run for you when you are up like 3 or 4 runs. A-Rod is not a Clutch hitter, He's a CHOKE ARTIST! I hate when the game is close and he is coming up to bat he either strikes out or runs into a double play.

  2. With runners in scoring position he is .245BA 4HR and 40 RBI, 25 H .412 SLG  and a .407 OBP

In late innings Alex is hitting .100 in 10AB with 1 HR and 2 RBI

"Mr. Clutch" is Jeter and here are his stats:

    Jeter is .302 BA 0 HR 43 RBI, 32 H, .395 SLG,, .345 OBP

    In late innings is 12 AB with 2 H for a .250 BA 0 HR 1 RBI

Jeter is having a terrible season hitting around .282 BA and AROD is at .324  so Jeter is hitting 20 points above his BA and AROD is hitting 79 points below his BA.

  3. Late & Close are PA in the 7th or later with the batting team tied, ahead by one, or the tying run at least on deck.

    this season AVG .209 1HR, 4RBI, OPS .695

    career: AVG .277, 63 HR, 210 RBI, OPS .904

  4. In 2005, 06, 07 A-Rod was an underrated clutch hitter.

This year, he really is choking. He's hitting around .250 with RISP.
