  1. right as it stands you have the queen who is actually head of state and she is who reigns her children are in order of succession CHARLES PRINCE OF WALES, ANDREW DUKE OF YORK, EDWARD EARL OF WESSEX and ANNE PRINCESS ROYAL they are all princes and princess then you get on to the grandchildren in order of succession PRINCE WILLIAM of WALES, PRINCE HENRY(HARRY) of WALES,PRINCESS BEATRICE OF YORK,PRINCESS EUGINIE OF YORK,JAMES VISCOUNT SEVERN, LADY LOUISE ALICE ELIZABETH MARY MOUNTBATTEN WINDSOR,PETER PHILLIPS AND ZARA PHILLIPS. as you will notice that the children of edward and anne have not got the style hrh even though edwards two have the right to be caled hrh when they are older.when the queen married prince phillip who had actually already been made a prince by GEORGE VI in 1947 just before the marrage took place he was then created duke of edinburgh upon the marrage the then princess elizabeth became the duchess of edingburgh

  2. King

    Queen

    Prince

    Princess

    Duke

    Duchess

    Marquess

    Marchioness

    Earl

    Countess

    Viscount

    Viscountess

    Baron

    Baroness

    Baronet

then you have all the others Lords and Sirs etc

  3. baronet does not out rank baron look it up

  4. I believe a baronet outranks a baron. I was surprised by this, but I recently stayed with a baronet.

  5. In order of precedence, from highest to lowest:

    King or Queen Regnant

    Queen or Prince Consort

The Heir Apparent or Heir Presumptive Prince or Princess

    Younger princes,princesses

All of the above may carry more than one ROYAL version of these titles:

    Royal Duke/Duchess

    Royal Marquess/Marchioness

    Royal Earl/Countess

    RoyalViscount/Viscountess

    Royal Baron/Baroness

Did you know that the Queen is also the Duke of Normandy and Duke of Lancaster?

Prince Charles' titles are Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick and Baron Renfrew, Lord of the Isles, and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.

Prince Andrew is Duke of York, Earl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh.

Royal versions of the aristocratic titles are higher in rank than the non-royal versions .

After the royal versions the order of precedence for the titled non-royal nobility is the same:duke, marquess, earl, viscount, baron.

Brian S. :A baron outranks a baronet. A Baron is a peer of the realm who can sit in the House of Lords if he is elected. Baronets can not run for a seat in The House of Lords.

  6. King or a queen is the monarch of a country

England has a queen but her husband is not the king because it is the queen who inherited the throne. So when she married her husband became a prince and when she was crowned queen he stayed a prince

The queens sons daughters and grandchildren are princes and princesses but if the queen dies and one of them takes over the throne than they will become king or queen.  But thier husband or wife will still be a prince or princess.

There is no rank order exept the king or queen calls the shots.

Remeber the royal family have little power now adays as all political decisions are done in parlament so no rank is needed.

But within the current royal family the queen is the "boss"

  7. King/Queen/Prince Consort are top of the bunch

The children (and in some cases Grandchildren) are Princes and Princesses. There are two types of Duke - Royal dukes like HRH Duke of York, HRH Duke of Kent, they are children or Grandchildren through the male line of a Monarch and either inherited therir title from their father (Duke of Kent) or wer given it on their marriage (Duke of York). If a Duke does not have the title HRH then he is just a Duke and ranks lower then a Royal Duke.  The Queen broke with tradition when she gave her youngest son an Earldom on his marriage rather then a Dukedom. He will inherit the Dukedom of Edinburgh on the death of his mother or father (whichever is later) but this is subject to the new monarch as technically the title will revert to the crown and would have to be re-created and the new king can reverse decisions.

Traditionally in the UK, the wife of a King is a Queen consort but the husband of a Queen Regnant is a Prince, Prince Philip, however, outranks all his sons in order of precedence as he is the husband of the Queen.
