What are all the budget shoppers making for dinner tonight?

Question

I made hot roast beef sandwiches with gravy. I probably spent $8 to $9 to make this meal, what meals do you make and how much do you normally spend on a meal. Sorry I am curious.

I made tuna patties.  Tuna, egg, cracker crumbs, and a bit of mayo.  Mix it all together and drop spoon fulls into a hot skillet and fry up the patties. Really yummy and cheap!

Cheap and easy corn chowder.

1 can of creamed corn

1 can of diced potatoes

bacon bits

onion....fresh or dried

milk, salt and pepper

Dump everything into the sauce pan and heat it up.  Add as many bacon bits and onion as you want.  Same with milk....use more to make it thin and less to make it thick.  Salt and pepper to taste, with a bit of butter for added flavor.  YUMMY!!!  Total cost under $5 and you can get 2-3 meals for 1 person.

I bought a family pack of chicken drumsticks (4.99) on sale at target,and made fried chicken 12 pcs, 6 corn on cobs from farmers market 3.00, 1 lb roasted potatoes (mixed with butter, garlic and basil in oven) 1.20 from farmers market.

fed a family of 5 and still had leftover chicken all for under 10.00,not bad

I buy those large packages of chicken breast or thighs and I freeze them . They last a long time so I dont have to keep going out to the grocery store.  And sometimes they go on sale so its all good.  Pasta is also cheap to buy, so I can put those together and make chicken alfredo, or chicken parmasean (didnt spell that right). And if you get sick of chicken but a package of ground beef or value pack of steaks.  Just pull whatever you want outta the freezer and change it up....:)  I hope that helped.  Im on a super tight budget myself.
