  1. should we name every one of the 150 billion observed galaxies?

  2. The last estimate that I saw is that there are on the order of 100,000,000,000 galaxies.  Each of these contains on the order of  100,000,000,000 stars.  Most galaxies do not have common names.

  3. There are hundreds of billions of galaxies out there. Any list you find will be incomplete as we have not labeled them all.

    Wikipedia has a list

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_gal...

but it is very limited and there are probably many more labeled galaxies than that.

  4. Hon, there are hundreds of billions of them, if not trillions. You want me to list them? Don't hold your breath.

  5. There are way too many to have names.  Like most stars, they would have a designation based on who first cataloged them, or their coordinates in the sky.  Only a handful have "names", these are usually based on the constellation in which they occur, (Andromeda), or some visual feature which makes them distinct (the Whirlpool)

  6. To list all the known galaxies would require an extensive research session and I doubt that anyone here would care to put in the time required. Try Googling.
