  1. Trusses are usually designed to carry loads with either tension or compression in the members.  To guarantee this the joints are made pivots.  This allows simple trusses to be solved by statics.  If you allow torque in the members the truss becomes statically indeterminate.


  2. There are probably several million pivot joints in my state alone. Every DVD player, VCR, sewing machine, automobile, toaster, washer, etc has one or more.

    So I'm not ready to give you a list of several million products.

  3. If you're talking about the human body, the only one is the neck.

    Otherwise, I have no idea.
