    9. Scrum half (also known as half back)

    (Note 9-15 are called backs)

    8. Number 8 (at the back of the scrum)

    7. Open side flanker (usually takes his position on the open or largest side of the field of play in scrums – i.e. nearest to where most of the backs stand, stands at the back of the line out)
