  1. Best to find how exactly HOW unsure they are....

If you don't know you should have him titer-tested at the vet.  That will test his immunity to certain diseases, thus determining whether he has been vaccinated against them or not.  You don't want to be pumping your pup full of shots that he doesn't need.

The ONLY shots he needs are Rabies, Parvo, and Distemper.  Leave the other stuff out -- it's not necessary (that means NO 5-way combo shots).  But again, you don't want to overdo it, so find out with titer-testing if he's already had these.

  2. Well little puppies need 3 sets of booster where they get Distemper, Parvo, Rabies, ect. And older dog still needs these too but if he's going to be around other dogs I recommend getting Bordetella. Rabies are good for 3yrs now so after all the initial shots, you only have to get 2-3 once a yr.

  3. I suggest go to the vet and get a full health check-up.  Ask him/her which shots your puppy needs(the vet will know which shots he will need).  But some of the shots are worming, rabies, booster, parvo.  Good luck.

  4. Annual and Rabies vaccinations are what you usually get and in most places you have to specifically ask yo have them vaccinated against kennel cough(bordatella) which, by the way, is not something they get from kennels. KC can be picked up anywhere there is dogs.

Another one I find they don't give without me asking is Lyme disease.

Telling the vets around here "I want him to get ALL of his vaccinations" doesn't work, you have e to be specific if you want anything other than rabies and the annual

  5. Well he's going to need his shots, three 5 in 1 DHLPP or 4 in 1 DHPP shots to protect against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus. He'll need his rabies as well. They'll only give you a one year rabies the first time around, but after that you can get a three year. You can also get an optional borditella vaccine to protect against kennel cough. He'll need an over all health check up or screening. He'll need a neuter appointment. And should be heck for a microchip.

  6. Be sure to ask your vet this important question.  Or, better still, ask their vet which vaccinations the dog has had, and tell your vet..

  7. it should have had all his shots except maybe a bordatella and or parvo booster. it wont hurt him to have dulicate shots i would go and get all new shots. parvo, bordatella, dhpp or dhlpp depending on weight which is distemper parvo parainfluenza and hepititis. the l is lepto which is for bigger dogs. and rabies.
