  1. Depends on what kind.

Im sure theyll just put you to sleep.

You wont know how long and you wont know what theyre doing.

Thats the good part. But if Im right, you might have aches and pains or such afterwards.

  2. depends on what type of surgery. Your doctor should explain what to expect before hand. Don't worry about the surgery. Explain all the fears to your doc. I have had several surgeries and have come out just fine. It is normal to be nervous.

  3. Doctor will explain  everything to you and you parents depending on your surgery. and anesthesia,  just ask him and mention your worries.

It is not unusual to be anxious before surgery but talking to your parents, surgeon and anesthetist in detail will lessen your worries & make you more comfortable.

You will be told to avoid eating or drinking minimum 6 hours before & after surgery if general anesthesia is being given.

Nurses will take your temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure and will give you gown to change.

For IV placement a numbing cream is applied on hands,

some patients receive premedication/sedative nasally/mixed with fruit juice to relieve anxiety.

You will be taken to operating room & anesthetist will take full care entire time.

After surgery mostly you will be in recovery room, your parents can join you there.

There may be some pain after surgery but effective pain medicines will be given to you.

The goal is to keep patient comfortable .

    Best of luck

  4. it depends on what type of surgery you are going to have. All surgeries are nerve racking, but you'll be fine. I was recently in a horrific car crash and went from the only surgery ever having was from getting my wisdom teeth pulled to having 8 major life saving surgeries. I don't remember any of it, because I was sedated, which you will be too. Afterwards you'll be woozy, and feeling dream like from the sedation but you'll be fine. Good luck with it, and just remember that no matter what, you will be and feel fine again.
