I don't really know how to state my question because I've been living in the Philippines since 2 months after birth. I was born in America so I have an American passport and a dual citizenship (American and Filipino). Recently, we took a vacation there in America and I liked the lifestyle there much better. I have an aunt who lives in Anaheim and her house is only 10 minutes away by car from UCI. I've been told by that aunt that because of my American citizenship, I can have like a loan plan or something like that. I don't really get it. I'm 15 and I am a sophomore student in high school. I will have graduated by March 2011. My mom told me to start searching for financial aids or scholarships. Here in the Philippines, I currently study in De La Salle Zobel School (if you don't know this, you can search its wikipedia page or go to http://www.zobel.dlsu.edu.ph ). I currently get line of 90 grades (highest possible would 100). More specifically, my grades range from 90-94 which is A-. Sometimes I do get 88 or 89.

  1. Your only 15? You have awhile to go before scholarships and loans will apply to you. Wait until your senior year to start looking. Because you won't be starting college anytime soon, financial aid is pointless to you. During your junior year start investigating the scholarships that UCI has to offer. Then during your Senior year, start writing your essays and apply for your FAFSA. Your FAFSA will be your main ticket to loans, grants, and scholarships.
