  1. Bags are tricks over and above your bid.  Some play 10 extra bags results in 100 point reduction.


  2. a sandbag or bag in spades is when you overbook your bidded books.  for instance if you bid 5 books, but ended up with 7 books then you got 2 sandbags or bags.  Some people play that if you get 10 sandbags in a full 500 game, then you lose 100 points.
