What are bearings on a skateboard?

i know this is like an incridibly STUPID question...but i really dont know ~.~

  1. Bearings are located inside each wheel. They create a barrier between the wheel and the truck. Without bearings the wheels wouldn't spin freely.


  2. they are circle shaped metal pieces that go in your skateboard's wheels. you need 8 bearings for a skateboard, 2 for each side of your wheels. with out your bearings you wouldn't be able to get a smooth ride on your skateboard.

    some brands of bearing that are used for skateboard wheels are Reds,Luckys,Speed Demons,and FKD
