None of the flowers I have chosen this summer have done well. They are in sun all day.

  1. Try petunias or moss roses.  Most likely, you will have to water the plants daily.  Hanging plants dry out quickly in summer heat and wind.

Usually, I replant the hanging pots in mid summer and put the old plants in the ground.

  2. vinca, dianthus, marigolds, salvia, spike, petunias and the list goes on.

  3. Geraniums, vinca, or petunias are sun-loving flowers.  Water daily.  The vinca will get really full if you pinch back the stems occasionally.

  4. Try " wave " petunias and sweet potato vine.  The vine may wilt a little in the sun, but if you water it perks up really fast.

Also try moss rose ( Pursalane or Portulaca ....ask your garden center ) mixed with miniature day lillies ( stella d'oro bloom all season long and some get only about 10-12 inches high)

    good luck
