  1. I use an old onion net filled with farm manure and suspended in a bucket...does for everything except carrots and parsnips. They are best left to search down for their feed. For tomatoes and cucumbers place an old large flower pot, partially buried beside them...water into that then it gets down to where it's needed. It's worked for me for many years.

  2. Start with a greenhouse and high quality compost, second have on hand a large supply of water, then feed regularily with Tomorite once fruits start to appear. Water every day in hot weather. Keep any bugs or fungal infections under control. For outdoors plants maintain the correct soil conditions for the veg you grow, use slow acting fertiliser with soil conditioners (eg. peat and or sand - carrots like rich soft well drained soil). Only use well rotted manure for the plants that love it. Buy a ph kit so you know what the state of the soil is and treat accordingly.  Be prepared for a long haul it can take 2 - 3years to get your soil to its optimum.

  3. Just buy Levington's Tomorite liquid specially formulated for tomatoes.  We have used it for years.

  4. Compost.

  5. see if you can lay your hands on some comfrey leaves just leave them in a water container full of water let it sit for a week, makes a great feed  make sure you dilute it about 10 to 1 good luck

  6. if you can get some cow dung, put in bucket  add water  it should look like week tea in color fed to plants  about 1/2 tea cup once a week

its always good to experiment with different fertilizers  see which ones do the best job

  7. Sit them down and make them eat their greens.

Worked for me, and I'm a prize vegetable.

  8. Baby bio - you can buy it at the garden centre or your local DIY store.

  9. Well I use miracle-gro and am completely happy.   My dad always swore by Phostrogen..   Both powders you dissolve in water and feed to plants of all sorts.    I always  treated soil in outdoor  areas with growmore  in the early spring,,, Especially good with leaf vegetables and salads,   prefer quality and juiciness before just size,  Was growing for eating.  not showing at a competition...
