  1. As mentioned above, they are biological, or natural in origin (unlike many chemical toxins that are man-made). You can add to the list the botulinium, tetanus, rabies and many other bacteria and viruses. They attack different organs and result in serious illness and sometimes are fatal.


  2. a biological toxin is simply a biological poison.  Some examples are Carbon Monoxide and arsenic.  These toxins can work in many different ways.  But essentially, they inhibit a bodily function that is necessary for life.

    Blood cells are meant to carry oxygen throughout the body but if carbon monoxide is in high levels, it competes with the oxygen at the bonding sites and because of this - carbon monoxide is carried through the body as opposed to oxygen which helps to fuel our body
