Board shorts are unisex and are used in swimming although boys usually wear them more than girls. Yes, they can be worn to school. They are kind of like basketball shorts but are appeal to the more surferish/beach type of person rather than the athletic type of person.

yes they are, if you ask me they're just like capri's but really comfy and dries really fast if there's water on it, and yes, im pretty sure they're ok for school, they're not\ revealing at all

Board shorts are the thin, nylon shorts that surfers wear.  No, there are not okay to wear to school.  Wear them at the beach/pool.

Boardies can be worn as street clothes. That is why they cannot be worn in most of Europe. It is considered unsanitary to get the the water after the shorts have been worn as normal.
