  1. He is a decent wrestler. That is his only strength. There have been fighters bigger and stronger than him before. (ie: Bob Sapp) From what I have seen he needs to work a lot on everything else. He couldn't even hit Herring on the ground. And the one he did hit him with had the worst technique I have ever seen. I'm still not sure how Herring didn't see it. CUTTING 20 POUNDS IS NOTHING FOR AN ALL-AMERICAN WRESTLER.

  2. Strengths : He's got great wrestling, especially takedowns, he's fast, and he's incredibly strong.  He shoots for takedowns like a furious bull.   His training for cardio is ridiculous, and he has the will to learn the skills he needs.

Weaknesses:  Experience - he's smart, but he hasn't had many real fights in his career, and he's been beaten 2 out of 3 fights. His first major win was against Heath Herring who hasn't looked that good in a while, and he still didn't dominate that fight like he should have.  His submissions/bjj defense are pretty weak.  He leaves armbars, triangles, etc. open, but he's got enough power to pop out of them usually.  It's hard for a guy like that to find strong opponents to train with - nobody he trains wih can hang on to him, so he really doesn't understand how effective a good arm bar or triangle can be.

I think Lesnar has what it takes to become a champ, assuming he works on his ground skills.  He's bright, young, and powerful.  Oh, and he weighs 285 lbs - he cuts over 20 lbs just to get down to the 265 max...that's HUGE!  Give it another year and he'll be ready for a title shot.

  3. Hes strong, good college wrestling backround(4x All americcan)

hs weakness is being too cocky

  4. Strength: Size, Wrestling, and power

    Weakness: Experience

I'd also like to add that he could submitted Herring around five or six times throughout the bout. He needs to learn a few submissions along with get some more experience.

  5. Biggest strength ---- his size, strength, and wrestling skill.

    Biggest weakness--- Inexperience.

  6. I agree with several posters to this question with a few additions.

His strengths are definitely his size, strength and wrestling background. But as important (if not more so) than all of those are his mental strength, his will to win and his ambition.

Most truly successful mma artists will tell you that the mma game is at least half mental. Most will tell you that it is far more than that.

Lesnar's will to succeed and win are, in my mind, his strongest asset.

Clearly he is inexperienced and that really showed in the Herring fight. He had many opportunities to sumbit Heath that he didn't even try to take advantage of.

On the upside, athletes that have competed at the level that Lesnar has competed at his entire athletic career tend to be very coachable. He will be ready for a title shot soon. He probably needs another 2 - 4 fights and lots of ground work in training. But we are definitely witnessing the early stages of a future UFC Heavyweight Champion.

  7. actually he only lost 1 fight, his first ufc fight, and he one a pride fight before that.
