What are brown ponies called?

i have 1 at my stables and dont know what its called its all brown e.g. brown body,brown mane and tail!

If it is a light brown, it is a chestnut.

If it is brown with a black mane and tail, its a bay

if it is a really dark brown, almost black even, then I'm pretty sure its just called "brown"

i don't know exactly...i'm not an expert there....maybe...brownies?just kidding.i think it's called a chesnut(its the only horse breed i know,sorry).

Most brown horses are either bay or chestnut. A bay would have black mane or tail, so sounds as though this pony is a chestnut. Chestnut varies in shade from light to liver chestnut being quite dark. Hope this is of help.
