What are chances China would attack Taiwan in the next 10 years

Question

Would China ever attack Taiwan if they cannot get it back by "uniting"?

What would be our response if they do?

Could it turn nuclear?

There have been some big scares lately. The sad fact is that we would probably either not intervene or actually side with China beacuse we need them as a trade partner so badly.

Time for Taiwan to para bellum, looks like.

China would not attack Taiwan. Because the fact is Taiwan is recognized as part of China. They do not have a seat in UN because they are not regarded as a sovereign state. In the past, many countries have accepted Taiwan as sovereign to oppose communism. But nowadays, less countries are recognizing Taiwan. Taiwan will most probably never be able to attain sovereignty through legal political measures as China and the other permanent security council for UN do not agree and even if 4 our of 5 agree, China can still Veto.

Taiwan can attempt by starting war... but US will not help. Because even now US does not condone Taiwan's membership for the UN.

China would not dare... if their are any attacks it would come from  North Korea

Mainline China can't march in like the good days.

They now now they have to play nice with others.
