  1. In regard to your question on whether or not they will look at your high school transcripts/grades depends mainly on how many credits you get from the community college.

Almost every 4 year school has a different set of guidelines for transfer students (I know, I've been one). As long as you have enough credits and/or you have a transferable 2 year degree from your community college, they won't bother asking for your high school transcripts.

The requirements vary, so you would have to look at the transfer requirements for the specific schools you are looking at going to.

On the same note, if you have enough credits or an associates degree, most all will also waive the ACT/SAT requirement.

  2. Community colleges.  Any college you transfer to from community college will look at your high school grades, but give more weight to your college grades - if you do well in community college, you'll have no trouble transferring, no matter how you did in high school.  But you will have to take the SAT/ACT before transferring - wait until applying to transfer to do so.

  3. ASU-major party school with decent academics. You need a 2.0 GPA to get into the university, but for your major you might need a higher GPA. You don't have to declare your major your first year though, you could just focus on your general courses and focus on getting good grades.

  4. You could try some colleges that have basically a 100% acceptance rate--

CUNY–Medgar Evers College, Glenville State, Golden Gate U, Lake Erie College...see http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreview...
