What are common sentences for minors in possession of marijuana?

If you get caught with marijuana and arrested as a minor, but let go to your parents, what might be the charges and/or sentence?

a friend of mine was given 12 hrs community service and 4 random drug tests spread out over a year, if he failed 1 he would receive 1 month in juvenile hall.

This was in Louisiana though, and a lot depends on how lenient your county DA is.

In BC, Canada for possessing a small amount for personal use you'd either be left to the wrath of your parents or be given a slap on the wrist. Community service or something, no jail time.

a warning. i was actually arrested when i was 16 in new york and i only got a warning contrary to what the other person said

it may stay on your record. or not. depends you may be lucky this time. but why even bother with this stuff. you could get in a lot of trouble. in the future stay away from drugs.  DRUGS ARE FOR SICK PEOPLE.  next time think before you do something.

It really depends on the state you live in and your record.However,here in New York State ,it is usually probation.It is usualy 6months to a year.The charge also depends on how much.

You'll probably be charged with simple possession and depending if it was your first offense you'll be given probation and possible license suspension.

The penalties could go higher on second and third offenses.

Much of this depends on the state.
