What are common street trees to use on the area between the sidewalk and street?

I have about 12 feet in between. I'm looking at a hybrid elm.

Oaks are very common where I come from. Crape Myrtles are very commonly used around me too. I don't know too many hybrid elms. I guess you might have to look around.

My best choice would be pine trees,or look around in your area ,what trees best grow in that area.for example cypress pines,sleepy willows,burr oak.

Look into a small leaved linden.  Fantastic tree.  There are a lot of them in Denver and around Fountain Square in Cincinnati.
