Renting a car is an option for me, but it's a bit expensive.

  1. Rent a car!  If you get some coupon codes, make online reservations, and get the smallest car, it should be around $25/day.

  2. In my opinion, it will be much cheaper & convenient to drive.

There's just too much hassle using mass transit to reach London, especially from (DTW).

The ride should be about 2 - 3 hours (depending on traffic).

  3. Your best option is to drive.

  4. renting a car

    taxi

    limo

    limo taxi

taxi to the tunnel then tunnel bus to windsor then bus to london (better to rent a car for this hassle though)

    ride share

  5. check out the website:www.robertq.com

Click on "airbus" and then (on the left menu)

    "schedules and fares".

They offer direct service from DTW to London, Ontario, at numerous times throughout the day and night.  There is a schedule available online and also a fare schedule.  You want to select "Detroit Metropolitan Airport" and then (choose a city) "London".

I just checked it out and it looks like the one-way fare from Metro to London is 61.00.  This is an adult fare booked in advance.  There are seniors and students fares as well.

This is a Canadian-based company (I live in Windsor) that I have used.  They provide clean, efficient service and I know several people who have used this option.  I don't know, tho, how it compares to the cost of renting a car.  I imagine they would drop you off somewhere downtown London; you would need to check on that as well.

It looks like the travel time from Metro to London is about 3 hr., 15 min. using this service, which is not too bad.  From Metro to Windsor, in decent traffic, is about 40 minutes, and Windsor to London, close to 2 hours.  This is if you were driving yourself, so they are not that far off the mark with their times.

Renting a car is an option but take into consideration that even with a cheap rate, you will probably pay about $25.00 for gas over and above your rental fee.  As well you would be paying your own toll (approx. $4.00)  Plus, if you're just getting off a flight, it is a hassle to get in a car and drive for a further 3 hours.

    Hope this helps.
