What are current national issues in the u.s. and what can we do to change them?

i need to right a letter to congress about national issues saying what the issue is and what can we do to improve

immigration...block the borders. they get our welfare, govt housing (homelessness rate is skyrocketing), and now soc. security. If they were gone, Americans would have jobs, and be able to get back on their feet and have a place to live.

More resources are needed for the poor/homeless. There are basic things like welfare but most people i know get $10 a month.. what does that buy.. There need to be more low income homes/apts and more shelters for the homeless.

We definately need something done about healthcare cost.. I have several surgeries that need to be done and it will cost me $10,000 out of my pocket.  My dental work.. 1 tooth being pulled is over half my monthly check.. it's ridiculous.

first we can lower the price of gas by allowing alternitve energey but congress is pushing for that.

second we can try to save the economy by lowering taxes so we Americans can pay off our debt.  

Also a stronger dollar but u have to destroy the Fedral Reserve since a central bank is unconsitutional.  After that is destroyed then e can bring back the gold standard if we go any left.

The Fed (Chairman Bernanke) just testified before Congress today talking about recession, commodity prices, financial market implosion, and what to do with all of the homeowners facing foreclosure.  Pick one and run with it.  If you want to sound like you know what you're talking about just read the front page of a national newspaper (Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Washington Post) and run with an idea you agree with.  

The key to a good letter is keeping it short and sweet...I interned for the House of Rep. one semester in college and hated long winded emails and letters...and yes they do get read but by interns...so don't worry its not like anyone famous is reading what you write.  Welcome to America! :)
