  1. The main application of a steam turbine is to generate electricity. In many industries, steam turbines are also used to drive boiler feed water pumps, ID/FD Fans also.

    In petro-chemical industries, sulfuric acid plants, etcc, steam turbines are also used as prime mover for air compressors.

    If you have excess steam available after power generation, you can use the steam turbine to drive any rotary equipment.
