  1. Disc's are a type of braking system, normally on older cars disc's where only fitted to the front but on newer and more powerful cars they have disc front and back, it is what the name suggests simply a disc, it varies in size depending on make of car size of wheels etc if you look thru your wheels you can see it, it will probably be shiny and silver in appearance, it will have a caliper over it inside which there are brake pads, when you brake the caliper squeezes the brake pads against the disc and this slows you down.(hopefully)

  2. disc brakes are normally mounted onto the hub so when the caliper squeezes it's special pads it causes friction on the disc which slows down the car. disc brakes are almost standard on every car because they are more powerful than the old drum style brakes. disc brakes have a brake booster which helps make braking more efficient and power full and disc cool down a lot quicker compared to drums because they are more in the open and are generally ventilated unless they're installed to the rear, then they are generally a solid piece.

  3. There's disc brakes and drum brakes. Most cars  these days are equipped with disc brakes, at least on the front wheels. There basically better all around and much easier to maintain and change...
