  1. DV stands for digital video. MiniDV camcorders take little tapes (they hold data) that can hold up to 90 minutes of video per tape.


  2. DV camcorders are digital video camcorders that use DV tapes to record to, the tapes can be easily transferred to your pc as they are recorded in a digital video format, as opposed to analogue tapes which will require a special video card to transfer the data to your PC. This first guy that has answered saying that they are hard drive recorders doesn't know what he is talking about as the hard drive recorders are referred to as HDD or hard drive camcorders.

  3. dv is a hard disc in the camera so you download it to your pc. No tapes or discs.
