Here is one of the easiest recipes I know to get you started:

    Herbed Pasta with Cheese

1 lb pasta ( any kind you have in the pantry will do)

    4 Tablespoons of butter

    2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon of pepper

    1 teaspoon of oregano

    1 teaspoon of basil

    3 cloves of chopped garlic

1 1/2 cups of parmesan cheese

Boil your pasta in heavily salted water until al dente (only slightly firm). Follow the directions of the box. While pasta is cooking, use a saucepan to melt your butter and olive oil together on a medium low heat. Add in garlic and sauté for about 3 minutes. Next add in your spices. Toss with the cooked pasta and top with grated parmesan cheese. Serve with a salad, and you have a meal. The whole thing will only take you about 15 minutes from start to finish.
