After using these methods straighten your hair with a hot iron or use a blow dryer, this will pop any nits. This is where heat can be effective.

Heat will kill lice on clothes if you put them in the dryer.  Boiling combs and brushes will kill lice.  However, a hair dryer is not hot enough to kill lice.  Lice are becoming immune to the over-the-counter remedies.  Another way to kill lice is to soak your head and scalp with rubbing alcohol.  Then rinse and shampoo.  After that use a good lice comb, such as the Lice Meister.  Remember rubbing alcohol is flammable and don't get it in your eyes.
