The USDA's food pyramid has meat and eggs in the same section. And then milk has its own section.

Meat and egg are proteins. And milk is a good source of calcium, but it's just milk (I don't think it's called anything else.) Meat, eggs, and milk are not absolutely required. Beans and various green vegetables can replace the nutrients you get from them. But I think that I would be living a sad, sad life if I didn't eat meat, eggs, and milk.

They do NOT provide most of your required diet.  You need 4-5 servings of fruits & veggies per day.  Milk (dairy) would provide your calcium;  eggs & meats would provide your protein (so would nuts & legumes).....  If you mix milk, egg & meat together, it would be called an OMELET
