What are electrical scope of work involved in mining and mineral processing?

Anyone pls tell. I am going to work in Perth Australia for a consultancy where they are specialist in minig and mineral processing? Pls tell what are Electrical Scope of work involved in the above? I am new to this field as i am presently working in Oil/Gas Electrical Design field?

  1. Some things like pumps, fans, motors, lighting, are similar.  In Mining there are more things like conveyors, etc.


  2. In mining it is a hurry up and wait kind of job if the lights go out you run.  If the fans that take air in to the mine stop you run.  If the conveyors breakdown you run.  Other then that there is a lot of down time, unless you are adding new lines.  Then it is a lot of lighting, fans, blowers, pumps, conveyors (sometimes, but not always) and general power for tools.
