What are error sensing devices?

I'm an engineering student, studying electronics n communications.

within 3days I have to explain about three error sensing devices- Potentiometer, Synchros, AC n DC servo motors.

can anyone plzzz help me

    Technically, none of these is an error-sensing device, although synchros come close because they use error sensing for synchronization.

    Attach a potentiometer to a servomotor and compare it to another potentiometer, and you have your error sensor.
