    My own suggestion is to have the students make a webquest or a Power Point Presentation on any given topic.

    From my own teaching experience, I have found that it is easier & more efficient to grade group projects using a rubric.  The kids love it because they know in advance what they will be graded on.  I found this great link years ago.  You can make rubrics free..
