  1. the fulcrum of a seesaw?

  2. I am assuming you are referring to the wedge as a simple machine.

A wedge is a subgroup of the inclined plane family of simple machines. Basically a wedge can be anything that splits, cuts or divides another object (including air & water).

So, on a playground you might be able to find a rocket ship swing or bouncer. The propeller blade is an example of a wedge.

If there is a sand box, you may find a shovel. The BLADE of the shovel is a wedge (not the whole unit, that would be a lever).

If there is a wooden swing set or something held together with nails, you would find wedges because the tips of nails are wedges.

If there is a sand box, you might also find a toy boat. The hull (pointed front) of a boat is a wedge.

    Hope that helps!
