  1. Floaters are impurities in the fluid of the eye.  Most floaters are blood cells.  Because they are inside the eye they do not appear as they are.  Instead , they appear as distortions in the visual field.   They are usually the result of a minor injury that caused a small amount of bleeding into the eye.

There is some debate about whether or not they ever go away.   Over the course of time they should eventually be absorbed, but the process would be very slow, if it happens at all.  You will come to disregard them most of the time.

  2. you also can get eye floaters, if you blood pressure is too high or you have had trama to the head.

  3. They are little "elastic" type things in the eyes that snap loose as we age. They don't go away, and  you will get more of them, but they get less noticible with time.

  4. Eye floaters are from when you developed inside the womb. When your eyes were developing there were little particles floating in the amniotic fluid and they got trapped inside the gel of your eye. They will never go away. That's what my eye DR told me.
