  1. I do not surf at all, but It sounds like the leash is the rope attachment that goes on your ankle and keeps you with your surf board, the fin sounds like the thing on the bottom that sticks out

    I'm just guessing

  2. A leash is an elasticized cord that is attached to your board, and also to a velcro strap that goes around your ankle.

It keeps you from losing your board in the surf.

Fins are like diving swim fins, except shorter and easier to walk in.  They are used by bodyboarders & bodysurfers - not really practical on a surfboard.

For the answerer above... the fin-like attachment(s) that stabilizes a surfboard is called a "skeg" - named after the steering rudder on a small boat or kayak. They give the board greater maneuverability and steering capability.

  3. since this is a surfing question and not a body boarding question

leashes-a cord like material that is connected to the surfboard in one end and you strap the other end(Velcro) to your ankles or in some long boarders case just below the knees in the calf area

Fins-or as many said skegs are located on the bottom of the deck near the tail, there are many variations of fins shapes and angles to create a certain feel but they are mainly there to keep the board from sliding sideways uncontrollably

  4. R U RETARTED???????????

a fin is a fin that goes on the back of the board and helps u steer/go faster!!!!!

a leash is a cord connected to the board that u strap around ur ankle so the board doesnt wash up at shore!!!!

  5. i don't know but it sounds kinky

no surfing here, you are lucky you live near the ocean
