What are five good reasons for why a teenager needs a cellphone?

my dad is making me write an essay about why i need a cellphone, and he says i cant include the fact tht there might be emergancys at school and late pick ups and umm im in HIGH SCOOL!!!

3 I would not be tying up the land line

4 you as parents pay the bill so u can control the usage

5 I would be always trying to make the right decision so I won't lose my phone privilege.

i dare you to ask you dad why HE needs a cell phone, lmao. then you can build off his own reasons(ie. he says he needs it for business, then you need it for school, to keep track of things with your friends,ect)

In case you are stuck somewhere unsafe and need a way out.Your friends have gotten drunk and you need a safe ride home.Your friends ar e doing drugs and you want to leave in a hurry.It is easier for your dad to find you.If you are in a sport or club they will need to call you.Yous signed up for babysitting and gave out your phn#.Just in case you ever need your dad you can call him.That one will get em.

well pay phones are almost non existent

in case your out late and your date or friends dump you

your friends are to out of it to get you home safely

tel him you could get a prepaid phone such a tracphone or net10 and you will keep up the minutes(has one)

if doesn't think emergencies happen at school ..then emergencies don't happen at work!!!

How old are you?  I think he is concerned about the charges.

How about you include in it that it could be a prepaid phone, and you will pay for recharging the credit?  

Personally, until you can afford to pay for the charges, I don't believe you should have one.

Ohhh no emergency..Ugh..I guess try convincing him that you are mature and that he can also always check your phone just in case he thinks you are doing something you shouldn't be or talking to someone you shouldn't. Also tell him that you'll pick up extra chores around the house to pay for your share of the bill. Christmas is coming up so be on your best behaviour, always ask your mom & dad if there is something around the house you can help with..etc..Good luck!

ok.

-you could get lost.

-if u need friend's help and stuff u can call them and u cant keep using the house phone.

-if ur at the bus or something and u need to call someone u cant just keep using other people's phones.

-you're responsible (i hope)

-youre perfectly old enough because a lot of people have them in like 6th grade.

-it doesnt have to be expensive. just a well priced one with good minutes and texting or w.e.

-you have friends.
