Neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine which is with memory and learning; norepinephrine is involved with mania-depression and emotions; and serotonin which is involved with biological rhythms, sleep, emotion, and pain.

Stimulants.

Depressants.

Look at inhibitory GABA,  and excitatory neurotransmitters GLUTAMATE and how there effects are blocked or enhanced.
