What are fun, creative, & cheap activites that could be done at a summer block party?

My block is having its first summer block party in a long time. For the past few years we have been doing them in october and having costume parades, haunted houses, etc. Now we need your help. We do not want to charge our neighbors outrageous coasts to join in the fun. We need fun activities for all ages. Can you help?

well usually my block does a big slide. but if you are looking for games: hang donuts on a string from something above your head and see who can eat the donut(s) fastest. jumpy houses for younger kids. or.... street hockey
