I work at a summer day camp. There are about ten kids and we are running out of indoor games and crafts to do in the mornings. What are some fun ideas? The kids are ages 6-10, so they have a lot of energy. We have been doing a lot of arts and crafts, but I would like to do something more active and I think the kids would too. I am open to any ideas you have.

please help.

  1. hide 'n' seek

  2. Simon Says. Follow the Leader. Dance. Rolled up sox for balls. Try activitytv.com (or find it in the kids section of Comcast On Demand).

  3. A game we love to play is table hockey with a ping pong ball and table.  The players sit or stand around the table and place their chins on the edge. A ping pong ball is placed on the table and players blow the ball around trying to blow it off the table, but not letting it go off in their area.  No hands, and point keeping is optional.  If the kids are too little to blow it off a ping pong table, a card table works pretty well for small groups.

And don't hesitate to use OLD games like red rover, mother-may-I, and freeze tag!

  4. Memory game - place things on table, cover with cloth- see who can remember the most things on table.

    Simon Sez

    Hangman- get old blackboard

Hide something in room- search -you are getting hot---getting cold

Make puppets out of recycle items & start puttting on puppet shows

  5. well at my day camp we do a variety  of things and since there are only ten kids that should make it a lot easier i would go on hikes playgrounds things to do outside. kids that age dont just want to spend the whole day inside making crafts. dodge ball. idk everything. just get some outside toys like frisbees and volleyballs or whatever let them outside believe me they'll find something to do! hope i could help. :]
