  1. it means your lineage..  like  I am the forth generation in my family that is a dedicated Wiccan practitioner. :-)

  2. one witch, two witch, red witch blue witch!

  3. The way I read your question might not be the same way that others have, so forgive me if I am barking up the wrong tree here.

It's not so much "generations". The term, for initiated Wiccans in a coven is degrees.

    You have:

First Degree: This relates to neophyte witches. In other words, people who are new to the coven. This stage can last for a long time. In fact, lots of people will never move beyond first degree.

Second Degree: You move on when your HP and HPS and yourself both agree that you are ready. Advancing to the second degree is a major thing and involves a great deal of responsibility.

Third Degree:A rank that a great deal of wiccans do not achieve through personal choice. Attaining the third degree normally means that that person is sufficiently progressed through the ranks to hive off and form their own coven.

Of course, this is just my knowledge, and as I am not Wiccan, I could well be wrong.

    I hope this helps.

  4. As far as I know, what you're asking about is the concept of maiden, mother, crone - the three ages of life. Perhaps someone else will have more information for you.

  5. Generations are how many family members have been Wiccan.  First generation Wiccans are the first of their line to be Wiccan.  Second means a parent and then child were Wiccan.  Third is grandparent, parent, child.

In Gardnerian Wicca, true Wicca, lineages and their generations refer to the number of "generations" removed from Gardner's original coven in 1959 and the number of covens existing in the direct line back to Gardner.

  6. I'm not sure... but I think it means if your parents were Wiccan.

  7. Technically a generation is considered 70 years, so Wicca has one generation at best. But some people would consider children the one generation, parents another, and grandparents the oldest generation.

  8. My mother is the queen of the witches

  9. Are you sure you mean generations, and not "degrees"?

In some strictly traditional groups (like Gardnerians) there are degrees they attain through time and study of the tradition.

1st degree, 2nd degree and finally 3rd degree is given to document your knowledge and the time put in.

Generations usually run an average of 25 yrs, so it would be pretty rare to have 3 generations of Wiccans at this point... although possble

if the first and second persons in the line had a child very early in life....
