What are good NYC bars when it rains?

I'm going out in NYC tonight, and it looks like the weather is going to suck. Does this mean everyone stays in and the bars and clubs are empty? Or is there one spot that everyone still goes too on bad weather days? Help please.

Nobody stays in when it rains!  You will find plenty of people out and about in the bars and clubs tonight.    They might not be having a good hair night, but they will be out anyway!

I tend to go to bars closer to my apartment on rainy nights so that I don't have to worry about getting a taxi.

NYC in the rain is just as busy as when it's dry.  Good places to go are always the bars and restaurants in the Village, Soho and Tribeca.  Green Street Bar is a great Place, you can get "flights" of wine, that is tastings of wine and a light fare of food to go with it.  A nice atmosphere for the rain.  It's in Soho, on Green Street, which makes sense.

I always loved to go to the true old coffee shops, ones like Cafe Reggio, which have been around since the 50's. They serve the best expresso and Italian desserts (MacDougal St), or you can head to Little Italy for expresso and Italian desserts and also a dinner.

The subways work, so you can get anywhere, and usually you can get a cab, if you are patient and have an umbrella.  Ny never sleeps, rain or snow.  But much more fun downtown.

Where are you from where people  don't go out and drink just because its raining - not here in Brooklyn!
